Committed Leadership Caring for Northeast Wisconsin

Our dedicated Board of Directors is comprised of Manitowoc County leaders who care for our community. They lend their knowledge, experience and time to guide Shady Lane from a local perspective. As we often note, we are all stakeholders, not stockholders, and thus, our Board is comprised of local residents with local knowledge making careful decisions for our community.

Dr. Joseph DiRaimondo

Retired orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Joseph DiRaimondo joined the board because he believed that Shady Lane is an important part of the community offering excellent nursing service in a non-denominational setting. Dr.DiRamondo is a member of the Manitowoc Zoological Society and served the community on the board of the State Medical Society, was a trustee of Holy Family Hospital, and served on the board of the Manitowoc Memorial Hospital.

Debra Gabriel
Debra Gabriel

A life-long Manitowoc resident, Debra Gabriel is an independent insurance agent with specialized knowledge in Medicare and other health insurances. She is a graduate of Lakeland College with a Bachelor's degree in psychology and is currently a member of the Manitowoc Chapter of the Business Networking International. Deb notes that it is an honor to work with a group that collectively supports a facility offering wonderful senior living services in our Manitowoc community.

Marilyn Kaufmann
Marilyn Kaufmann, PhD

The chair of the Nursing Program at Lakeshore Technical College, Marilyn Kaufmann holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UW-Eau Claire, a Masters in Public Health from the University of Minnesota, and a PhD in Nursing from UW-Milwaukee. Recently she served on the Wisconsin Board of Nursing. Currently she serves on the committees for Holy Family Home Care and Hospice and Process Improvement. She is a member of the Wisconsin Nurses Association. When asked what excites her about serving Shady Lane, she noted that we offer levels of care that give residents the freedom to choose how much or how little care they need.

Carl Laveck

Carl Laveck

Carl Laveck is the chair of the Long Range Planning Committee. A graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School and the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Carl is the Executive Vice President of Denmark State Bank in Denmark, Wisconsin. Active in the community, Carl has served on the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA board and is a past president. He has served on the Manitowoc Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors, the United Way Manitowoc County Board, and is the past campaign chairman in Two Rivers. In addition to serving on the Shady Lane board, he is currently a member of the Manitowoc Industrial Development Corporation board. Both Carl's father and aunt lived at Shady Lane giving him direct experience with the facility which, he says, offers excellent nursing care in a healthy, happy environment.

Scott Mcmeans
Scott McMeans

The importance of keeping quality healthcare providers in Manitowoc County was a prime motivator for Scott McMeans to join our board. The Administrative Director of Strategic Implementation for Holy Family Memorial, Inc., with over twenty years of healthcare experience, Scott brings a depth of understanding of healthcare and its future trends. Besides serving on Shady Lane's board, he is a Manitowoc City Council Alderman, co-chairs the Chamber Legislative Committee and sits on the Wisconsin Hospital Association Public Policy Committee.

Tom Mueller
Tom Mueller

Tom Mueller was born and raised in Manitowoc where he is currently the director of Human Resources at Federal Mogul. He is a graduate of Harvard University's Management Development Program, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Roncalli High School. He also serves as a member of the Chamber of Commerce Human Resources Committee.

Noffke
Jim Noffke

Jim Noffke serves as the Finance Chair on the board. He retired as Senior Vice President and Regional Trust Manager for Associated Trust Company for 41 years. He has lent his financial expertise to many community organizations including the Manitou Girl Scout Council, Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Manitowoc. He is a former member of the City of Manitowoc Community Development Authority and Manitowoc United Way. He believes that offering his business experience to Shady Lane with its community oriented mission is a way to contribute to the community at large.

Pohlmann

Patty Lou Pohlmann

Patty Lou Pohlmann chairs the Fund Raising Committee for Shady Lane. She is the retired Vice President of Development for Silver Lake College in Manitowoc and has lived in Manitowoc most of her life. Currently, in addition to the Shady Lane board, she serves as the president of the Manitowoc Sunrise Rotary Foundation and is a member of P.E.O. Chapter CD and Service League. She is the past president of Manitowoc's Wisconsin Maritime Museum board, past president of Manitowoc Sunrise Rotary and has served on numerous Manitowoc fund raising committees.

Katherine Reynolds
Katherine Reynolds

An attorney at Michael Best & Friedrich, LLP, Katherine Reynolds practices law specializing in estate planning and elder law, trusts, wills, probate, and municipal law. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, she also serves the Manitowoc community on the board of First Manitowoc Bancorp, Bank First National, and Silver Lake College. She is also a member of the City of Manitowoc Police and Fire Commission, the United Way of Manitowoc Endowment Trust Board, and the Manitowoc County Ethics Board.

Schwalbe

Ronald Schwalbe

Ron Schwalbe is the chairman of the Shady Lane Board of Directors. He retired as president of A. C. E. Building Service, works with the Green Bay Chapter of SCORE doing business counseling primarily in Manitowoc County and is on the Manitowoc Economic Development Corporation board. He is a past member of the Sunrise Rotary Club, the Manitowoc Jaycees, and the Manitowoc Zoning Board of Appeals. He holds a two-year degree from Manitowoc Technical Institute in Design and Research.

Mike Schaus
Mike Schaus

Mike Schaus is President and Partner in Schaus Roofing and Mechanical in Manitowoc. He serves on the Long Range and Facilities Planning Committee. Mike is a graduate of Lakeshore Technical College and a lifelong resident of Manitowoc.

Melanie Teidt
Melanie Teidt

Melanie Teidt is currently the director of Clinical Services at Aurora Visiting Nurse Association in Manitowoc. A Bellin College graduate, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. "I have a passion for ensuring that seniors receive the right care at the right place and at the right time." She believes that the best care comes from a collaborative effort. Besides serving on the Shady Lane Board, she works with the United Way and has served on the legislative committee of the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association.

Torke

John Torke

John Torke is the Chair of the Personnel Committee. With a degree in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, he has been active in the Manitowoc business community and has served on business, trade association and church boards. In his position, he is responsible for advising, oversight, and assisting Shady Lane in providing compassionate, positive and affordable care.
